Ford was way ahead of its time as they built the first full powershift  tractor with 10 forward and 2 reverse speeds in 1959 at a moment its main competitors could only shift down half a gear. John Deere followed the Ford example in 1962 and International waited almost 25 years to have a full powershift tractor.
